My Article Title

SOME NOTES I SENT TO THE EVANGELISM TEAM:

The 10 commandments, paraphrased meanings:

1. Don't put anything before God
2. There is One Way
3. Vanity with God's Name, grace in vain, hypocrisy
4. There is no day off with God
5. Honor parents
6. Hatred is murder
7. Lust is adultery
8. Don't take what is not yours, including robbing God
9. All liars in the lake of fire
10. Coveteousness is desiring other people's things. Rom 7:7

Seek and find the lost:

When I understand that those who are not found in the Book of Life will be cast into the lake of fire (Rev 20:15), am I:

1. unconcerned - Mark 9:42-48
2. concerned
3. alarmed
4. horrified

Is it possible that many whom I assume are saved are really not? Mark 10:17-22, 26-27

Why is the Law of God so prominent in the Bible? Rom 3:19-20

What was the primary reason you came to the Savior?
Did you have a thorough knowledge of your sin?
Where did that come from?
Did you have a fear of God?

Is it easier to witness to friends, neighbors and family or to complete strangers?

Our allies:

The Law of God - the sting of death is the law
Fear of death (will to live)
Conscience (done with knowledge)
Creation
Holy Spirit Who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment

What we hold in common:

1. Life and death
2. Good and evil
3. Mercy and justice (when we here of an injustice, a sense of seeing justice done rises in us)

Perfect love casts away fear.
The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion I John 3:17,18, Acts 3:1-7

Here comes the enemy

I Peter 5:8
Fear, doubt, worry (cares of this world), temptation, sin, separation, adversity from family (even Christian brothers and the church)

HOW TO WITNESS

1. Be friendly - practice saying "hello"; people usually respond well to warmth
2. Make the swing to spiritual things. See John 4.
You can either ask where there's a good church or simply offer them a tract asking "Did you get one of these?"
3. WDJD - What did Jesus do?
Would you consider yourself to be a good person?
Do you think that you have kept the 10 commandments? (Go through them)
Judgment is coming after you die; do you think you would be guilty or innocent on that day?
Destination Heaven or Hell?

Questions for "inoculated almost Christians"

1. Are you born again? John 3:5
2. When was the last time you read your Bible? II Cor 13:5 - self examination

Bait - apologetics
Hook - the Law
Attitude - humble compassion mixed with deep concern. Resolute, but gentle.

Rev 21: What's not in Heaven

1. death
2. sorrow
3. crying
4. pain
5. former things
6. cowardly
7. unbelieving
8. abominable
9. murderers
10. sexually immoral

The Goodness of God leads to repentence. Romans 2:4 -- Not that His goodness leads us to repent of sin. He will in no way clear the guilty. The way to forgiveness is through the shed Blood of Christ. In relation to others, I may declare my own goodness (Proverbs 20:6) but when I really see the Lord in His glory (Isaiah 6), woe is me! A good judge will bring righteous judgment according to perfect Law and cannot be bribed. We know God will cast someone to hell, because He's so good that no evil can be in His presence. He delights in: Jer 9:24
1. lovingkindness
2. judgment
3. righteousness
Thankfully, God proclaims Himself by His name to be always (Exodus 34:5-7) merciful and gracious, longsuffering and abounding in goodness and truth. There is no one good but God. Mark 10:18, Rom 3

II Cor 5:9-11a; 19- 6:2 #1 aim is to please God and therefore persuade men. Represent God. Be reconciled. In light of the soon coming judgment, I must make it my aim to please God with this body of His. I do not live for myself (v 15); but for Him who died for me and rose again. This great love of God now constrains me to do His good pleasure (Phil 2:13) and to fulfill His desire that none should perish, but all come to a knowledge of the truth. Let Him make His appeal though me to be reconciled! Represent! II Cor 5:20

A true believer according to I John

1. Likes to fellowship 1:7
2. Recognizes the truth of sin 1:8
3. Obeys 2:3
4. Does not love the world 2:15
5. Confesses the Son as God 2:23
6. Is waiting expectantly 3:2,3
7. Moves in a holy direction 3: 9
8. Loves Christians 3:14
9. Loves the Word 4:6
10. Proclaims Jesus 4:15
